A new project will introduce a new generation to the work of master of horror H.P. Lovecraft. Created with family viewers in mind, Howard Lovecraft and the Frozen Kingdom is meant to be both spooky and entertaining.

Ron Perlman and Christopher Plummer have been cast in the upcoming animated film Howard Lovecraft and the Frozen Kingdom from filmmaker (and Arcana Studios CEO) Sean Patrick O’Reilly. The film, based on Bruce Brown’s popular graphic novel of the same name, is being done in conjunction with Shout! Factory. Perlman will voice the role of Shoggoth, and Plummer has been cast in the role of Dr. Herbert West.

Meanwhile, EW reports that director Richard Stanley (Hardware, Dust Devil) is still on track to make a big screen adaptation of Lovecraft’s The Color Out of Space. But it’s taking some time. Read more about that here.
