Chesapeake Shores, a new series based on the books by Sherryl Woods, airs tonight in the US and on the 25th in Canada. Here’s some backstory from The Morning Ledger:
Chesapeake Shores, a series of novels by Sherryl Woods follows the story of Abby O’Brien. Abby is a New York City-based career woman who, after leaving her hometown Chesapeake, never dared to look back.
She, estranged from her former husband, is currently battling him with child support for their twins.
Abby is forced to return to Chesapeake when her younger sister Jess tries to open up an inn but is in serious financial difficulty.
Chesapeake Shores Hallmark will explore the theme of family, considering that the turn of events will make Abby realize that family is important. Her career has barred her from being involved in her daughters’ upbringing.
Full disclosure: January Magazine editor Linda L. Richards’ son Michael Karl Richards plays Wes Winters, Abby’s ex-husband. So don’t be surprised if you see more reminders to watch in this space as the season progresses.
The series debuts tonight at 9 on the Hallmark Channel. It airs in Canada on August 25th on the W Network.
