Why we
like awards...
These
awards make us happy for one main reason: they
confirm the stuff we suspected. The stuff that made
us want to create January Magazine in the
first place.
Humans
care about books. More: they care about the people
who create them. Traditional publications often
don't have room to do this caring justice. Worse:
sometimes they don't even believe it
exists.
People
like January
Magazine.
They like it enough to keep coming back to see what
new stuff we've been up to. This is gratifying
because it means we were right. It also means that
people enjoy and appreciate what we're doing here,
and that's very special. The awards confirm this in
a very visual way that we can share here with you.
Plus, we get to call ourselves "award-winning".
That's sort of fun too.
